Irene Soléa blends sanskrit mantras, vocals in four languages, harmonium and rock/world grooves in music that ranges from sweetly contemplative to stirringly soulful. Trained as a vocalist and music therapist, and with years as a vocal coach, she was introduced to the heart-opening potential of kirtan in 2000 and has been hooked ever since, offering concerts, workshops, and private classes/sessions filled with love, laughter and devotion.

Irene has been a featured artist at venues including the Prague Spirit Festival, Denver's Yoga Rocks the Park, Boston Yoga and Chant Fest, Kripalu Center (MA), Integral Yoga (NYC), Yoga Tree (SF), Wild Rose Yoga (Thailand), and her homebase, South Boston Yoga. The October 2013 release of her second album, Beloved --seven tracks featuring original melodies, lush vocal harmonies, and Pop/Soul and Latin flavors-- comes on the heels of her now sold-out 2010 EP release, and features an all-star cast including Girish, Steve Gorn, Joni Allen, and Chris Lester.

Irene received her MA in Music Therapy and Counseling Pyschology from Lesley University, and her Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from The Trauma Center. She is a board-licensed psychotherapist (LMHC) and board-certified music therapist (MT-BC), most recently serving as Clinical Director within the Justice Resource Institute. She currently provides English/Spanish bilingual therapy services for adolescent and adult individuals and groups, as well as chant/kirtan instruction, from her Boston-based private practice. Her interests include trauma-informed psychotherapy and ARC, cross-cultural expressive arts therapy with recent field sites in Peru and Argentina, mindfulness-based and mantra/chant practices. She has presented her work at professional conferences for the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA), American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), and the New England Region of the American Music Therapy Association (NER-AMTA).
